Berry up Your Paleo Clean Eating Diet

Aaaahhhh summer. Who can resist our most laid-back season? Summer nights on the patio, the wearing of flip flops accepted almost everywhere, lazy weekends spent at the pool, lake or beach, and berries. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and boysenberries; all bright and attractive with their juicy, sweet tart goodness. On the Paleo Clean Eating Diet, berries play an important role and are a great choice for breakfast, lunch or any time snack. The benefits of berries seem to be almost endless. Here's why you should include a heap of berries this season in your Paleo Clean Eating Diet:

  • Their fat-burning abilities. Berries, especially blueberries can help diminish body fat, more so than any other fruit.
  • Protection of your mental capabilities. Considered a superfood, berries have been shown to help with brain function and memory. Blueberries and strawberries contain more of the brain-benefiting polyphenols than other berries but all berries are abundant in them.
  • The abundance of antioxidants. Berries are loaded with the phytonutrients shown to protect against diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. The carotenoids found in berries also help the body fight against cancer.
  • Protection of your vision. Blueberries and raspberries contain lutein which helps keep your eyes healthy and protects your vision.

When looking for ways to amp up your choices on the 28 Day Paleo Diet, berries can be a nutritious and delicious addition. At The Studio Kitchen we always strive to make adhering to the paleo diet easy with paleo-prepared meals made convenient with home meal delivery in Austin and its surrounding areas.
