When you choose the Paleo clean eating diet from The Studio Kitchen, you're choosing to eat whole, unprocessed, nutrient-dense, nourishing foods. What you don’t eat are foods that will harm you by causing systemic inflammation, wrecking your gut, or derailing your natural metabolic processes. This includes grains, dairy, legumes, artificial ingredients, highly processed foods like high fructose corn syrup, sugar and alcohol.
The Paleo diet is about as close as you can get to a low carb diet than any other kind of diet you can follow these days, but there are quite a number of significant differences between following the Paleo clean eating diet and following any other kind of low carb diet. So what differences should you be aware of?
1. Both diets will help you lose weight, but if you choose to follow a low carb diet rather than the Paleo diet, you won’t lose as much weight and not as quickly. The only way to really lose weight without the need to restrict how many calories you eat is to eat the right sort of fats and protein.
2. Low carb diets don't allow you to eat fruits or vegetables. However, if you want to be able to reach your optimal health levels then you need to eat plenty of vegetables. In fact you will find it very difficult to become lean and healthy if you don’t eat enough vegetables each day.
3. A low carb diet increases your risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition caused through a result of a person not having sufficient amounts of calcium in their bones. You need to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as these contain potassium, which helps your body to excrete the calcium you have collected into your bones more readily.
