Pre sear meat for a better outcome

Not a favorite. While the combination sounded good, the outcome was not. The sliced potato was still crisp and the meat just had very little flavor. The entrée was frozen when received so it went into my freezer and was prepared a couple of days later. It was thawed in the refrigerator and then went into the oven. Didn't look attractive and was relatively flavorless. I think pre searing the meat might have improved the dish. Cannot recommend.
